Who has access to and processes the information

Deirdre Brennan and The Peelo School of Dance employees, Niamh Kirwan, Aimie Duignan, Triona Mulryan, and Elaine McDonald

Why do we collect information:

We need to keep a register of our students, this ensures that we have students in correct classes and we have contact information for all students should we need to contact them with regards to our classes, or if we need to contact someone in relation to the student for emergency reasons should an incident/illness occur. Contact information is not shared with anyone other than The Peelo School of Dance employees.

How is your information used:

Name of the students and their parent/guardian; for all contact purposes

Address; for contact purposes with regards to our school activities

Telephone number: for contact purposes with regards to the student registered and our school activities

E-mail addresses : for contact purposes with regards to the student registered and our school activities

Date of birth : to ensure pupils are in the correct classes

We will only ask for and keep information that is necessary. We will explain the need for any information we ask for if you are unsure why it is needed. We ask you to inform us about any relevant changes that we should know about including personal contact information.

Who is the information shared with?

We do not share contact information with anyone.

When students are registering for examinations with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) we must register the students name and date of birth only with the IDTA as they are our examining board

How is your information stored?

We will keep our registration forms stored in locked files/drawers.

We will have names and phone numbers written in our registration books as this is necessary to contact someone in an emergency etc

We will store contact phone numbers in our phone for contact purposes and emergencies

If you have registered with us via email or text, these emails and texts will be stored on our laptops/phones

In accordance with the GDPR, the company does not store personal data indefinitely: data is only stored for as long as is necessary to complete the task for which it was collected.

Destroying / deleting information

If a student leave the Peelo School of Dance, their registration form will be shredded and contact information will be deleted. However if they have registered to take examinations through us and we have their previous examination results from the IDTA, we will keep their names, examination results and dates of birth

What are your rights?

You have the right to be informed about how The Peelo School of dance uses your personal data

Your right to amend, restrict and object to the information held.

Under the GDPR all individuals have the right to have incorrect information that is held about them amended. If this was to arise the The Peelo school of Dance will destroy the incorrect information and will only keep new information.

 

We hope this policy has explained any issues that might arise. In the unlikely event that this safety was compromised you will be notified immediately as will the Data Protection Commissioner.
